The CPLSCA will be holding Positional Elections at the Spring All-City/All-Academic Meeting.  The date and time are tentatively set for Monday April 29 at 7:30PM at Chief Oneills located at 3471N. Elston. 

A list of positional duties and a current association assessment is available at the bottom of this page.  It will also be emailed to all current CPL soccer coaches. 

Members who decide to run for an officail position will need to submit an offical declaration of their intention to run as well as a positional statement.  All canidates declarations and statements will be posted here.  The last day to submit a declaration and statement is Sunday April 27...the day after the Spring Seed Meeting for the city championship tournament.

The CPLSCA currently organizes both boy  and girls, indoor and out-door Senior All-Star Games, as well as selecting both All-City and All-Academic teams at the end of both the Spring and Fall seasons.

Adoption of the following proposals requires that the said proposal garner %60 of the member’s votes, at any one of the 6 annual CPLSCA meetings.

 

 

2008 – Official Proposal to hold Positional elections every two years.  Elections will take place in the spring of even number years with the officers assuming position

                on the first of August of that same year.

2008 – Official Proposal to hold the 2008 positional election on the night of the All-City/All Academic Team Meeting.  Candidates declaration of intent and positional

                statements will be emailed or mail run to all CPL soccer coaches and posted on the association’s web site.   The last day for submitting of one’s declaration

                of intent and positional statement will be one day following the spring CPL playoff seed meeting.

2008 – Official Proposal to hold a minimum 6 CPLSCA meeting per year:

Summer – August meeting prior to boy’s soccer season separate from the rules and interpretation meeting

Fall – 1 all city/all academic meeting, 1 fall/winter all-star meeting

Winter – 1 pre all star game, 1 pre spring season

Spring 1 all city/all academic meeting

2008 – Official Proposal to raise annual membership fee from $15.00 to $20.00

2008 – Official Proposal to organize responsibilities among positions in order to delegate some of the workload

Positional Duties

President – Overseer, assists in all areas, negotiate and procure sponsorships,

In Regards to the All-Star Games – responsible working out dates and location for the all-star game, responsible for making arrangements with all-star opponents, responsible for procuring all-star insurance, responsible for negotiating costs of field rental for game, tryouts and practice, in charge of getting all-star t-shirts

 

1st Vice President – soliciting membership (collecting money, keeping track of current members, membership information for our CPLSCA directory, and UPDATING AND DISTRIBUTING OUR CPLSCA MASS EMAIL LIST AND MAIL RUN LIST

In Regards to the All-Star Games – in charge of creating and distributing all-star tryout flyer  

 

2nd Vice President – All-Star Game Coordinator

All-Star Coordinator – overseer of the operations of the game….in charge of all-star coaches….also specifically in charge of collecting player information(including the tryout waiver roster that includes each players email and phone number), creating the all-star program, and distributing information to college coaches, in charge of inviting college coaches to the all-star game

In regards to the All-City/All Academic teams – in charge of printing out the awards certificates

 

Treasurer – Collection of membership dues, payer of expenses, writes monthly account status reports

In Regards to the All-Star Games – in charge of collecting money at the game, paying all expenses (insurance, referees, field rental, and paramedic)

 

Sgt Arms – All-City/All Academic Team coordinator – responsible for running the All-Academic/All City Team nomination meetings

In Regards to the All-Star Games – distribution of the tryout waiver roster that includes each players email and phone number, collection of player waiver forms

In regards to the All-City/All Academic teams – in charge of updating and distributing the All-Academic and All-City Nomination forms and the collection and tabulation of information from those forms.

 

Secretary – Coaches BBQ and Coaches Dinner Coordinator

In Regards to the All-Star Games – in charge of video taping, taking pictures, providing water and ice, medical kit, balls, pennies and cones for the game.

In Regards to the All-City/All Academic teams – in charge of video taping the final and taking pictures of the All City/All-Academic team announcement at halftime of the city championship game

 

2008 – Official Proposal to adopt the following Association Bylaws

1.                    All members…including the elected officers must pay an annual membership fee

2.                    One’s membership may be revoked at any time if they fail to act in accordance with the mission of the CPLSCA

3.                    All CPL soccer coaches (both high school and elementary) are eligible to become member of the CPLSCA

4.                    A person who is not currently a CPL soccer coach can only gain membership if they are:

A.                   nominated by a current CPLSCA member

B.                   that nomination must then be seconded by another member

C.                   finally, the applicant must receive %60 approval by the member voters at one of the 6 annual meetings.

D.                   Once a person who is not a CPL

 

2008 – Official Proposal to adopt the following Positional Bylaws

 

Election Procedures

1.        All current CPLSCA members are eligible to run for any position

2.        To run for any official position, a member must be nominated for a position by another CPLSCA member, and that nomination must be seconded.

3.        Members running for official positions must obtain a majority of the votes to gain office 

4.        No member can hold more than one position at one time

5.        There is no maximum number of years a member can hold a position or combination of positions

 

                Removal from office

1.        Failure to uphold the responsibilities (as stated above) of any particular position may result in removal from the said position.

2.        Removal from any particular position will require a %75 vote at any one of the 7 open meetings held each year, or a %75 vote at an emergency meeting that has at least 10 members and 3 current officers present.
